We get it. Today’s the day you just want to close your blinds, pop two Advil and pray the cleaning lady doesn’t cancel. But, it’s also the first day of the year that doesn’t feel like erev something. It’s your chance to kick things off on the right note even when you just want to kick back.
So, in honor of 5786, we’ve identified our top 6 essentials that offer a productivity pick-me-up better than a triple shot espresso (plus that), and we’re sharing them with you.
From our office to yours, here are:
Six Essential Office Tools
Email Snooze Button
This tool is #1 for a reason. If you’re not utilizing your email’s snooze button, we’re about to change that. Gmail’s snooze feature allows users to schedule emails to reappear in their inbox at a later, specified time. The snooze button helps keep our inboxes tidy by temporarily removing non-actionable items that might clutter your daily workflow. This feature is particularly useful when waiting for a response or having emails containing information relevant for a later date. By snoozing these emails, you ensure they don’t distract you or get lost in your inbox, and pop back only at the exact time you need them. It’s digital decluttering at its finest.
Two Screens
This one’s a non negotiable. One of our personal covid miracles is that we survived the pandemic working from home on one screen. Having two monitors allows us to multitask more efficiently, easily copy and paste information between files, reference material from one screen while working on another, and get our clients’ projects out the door faster than a Rabbi walking home from Tahaluchah with an overtired toddler in the stroller.
Mr. Monkey
The lil’ guy isn’t real, but he’s stuffed with some real good lessons. “Don’t pass the monkey” is our motto, which means if a task is delegated to you, see it through without shifting the responsibility over to others. Team leaders should encourage team members to take ownership of their responsibilities, and by doing so, managers can focus on their core duties and contribute more effectively to the success of their organization. It’s an important lesson for anyone seeking to work more efficiently and accomplish more in less time, whether or not you keep a stuffed animal as a reminder.
Snack Bar
Studies show that brains cannot think louder than hunger pains (Click Co. Office Statistics, 2025), so fuel up for efficiency! Keep the office snack bar well-stocked (honorable mention to KIND Bars, Skinny Pop and anything Trader Joes), to prevent your creative genius from being disrupted by your Instacart snack delivery updates.
AI
Savvy marketers understand that AI isn’t here to replace them, but rather to amplify their capabilities and streamline their workflow, so don’t be shy to use AI! Utilize the handy tool to supercharge your capabilities and save time with generating ideas, drafting, tweaking messages and more. Remember, while AI is impressive, it still has limitations. It has good words, not gut vorts… if you know what we mean.
Calendar
Have you ever found yourself scrambling for a calendar to mark down an important meeting on May 22, 2026? Uh oh. Your first mistake: not using a digital calendar. Your second mistake: May 22 is Shavuos. Save time and potential embarrassment by using Google calendars — with Hebrew dates! Seamlessly integrate the Hebrew calendar like so: Settings > General > Alternate Calendar > Add Hebrew Calendar.
Ready to tackle the workload now?
If you made it this far, you’re six steps closer to becoming a productivity pro.
If you got stuck on #1, we hope you at least snoozed this email to read at a later time.
